SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Sacramento high school freshman collapsed and later died Monday after finishing a quarter-mile run in gym class, news10.net reported.
The boy, who attended Grant High School West Campus, was walking in the back of the gym at just after 1 p.m. when he collapsed and fell to the floor, Sacramento Fire Capt. Jim Doucette said.
Witnesses say the boy appeared fine during the run. He was alive when transported to a hospital, but later died, according to the report.
A cause of death has not been determined. Police are investigatin
