Orange league RPG: Dive school 101.

James was embarassed to be on his first mission with such an unorthadox man, but had no choice but to follow his lead. After taking many breaks to catch his breath, the man finally arrived at the edge of the river, where the girl and her friend were. He once again had to catch his breath before he would confront the two.

Mary run out on to the porch just in time to see James and a fat man running after Ino and Michael. "INO! MICHAEL! WATCH OUT!"

The fat man turned to see a girl shouting towards the two kids, and instead of yelling back, which he was still unable to do, he reached into his belt and flung out a blue Pokéball.

"That's my cue!" James said as he did the same.

Out of the two Pokéballs emerged a young Staryu and a weak-looking Pelipper.

Mary looked slyly at the two of them. "Those pokemon are mulnerished. If you want it-two-on-two, so be it! Go, Captain, C.J.!"

The Pokeballs released a Golduck and a Croconaw.

((Hey, James takes good care of his Staryu!))

"Finally," James whispered to himself, "A real battle. Now Hydra and I will be able to prove how good of a team we are!" The fat man was finally able to stand up straight and he looked at Mary.

"Do you know who I am?!" He shouted, "I'm a member of Team Merr," he said, completely ignoring James, "and I've been sent by the Captain himself!"

"Oh really?" Michael asked.

"Do you know who I AM?!", asked Mary. "I'm the gym leader here, and it's my duty to protect my gym at all costs! I'm telling you, I'm a three time Whirl Cup champ! C.J., Bite on Staryu, Captain, back C.J."

Michael assists Mary.

"Go, Shellos!"

"Shee-los!"

"Go Swablu!"

"Blu! Blu!"

Hydra took the Bite attack directly, but James wasn't going to let that keep them from fighting back.

"Hydra," James shouted, ignoring the fat man's grunts of frustration, "Use Tackle on the Croconaw!" The Staryu spun around the attacking Pokémon and hit it with a hard Tackle attack. The fat man looked at the two assisting Swablu and Shellos.

"Four versus two?!" He shouted, "Even us pirates have enough honor as to fight a fair fight!"

"Croconaw, grab it!", Mary turned to Michael and sighed, "You know their right. Trainers honor."

((Alright))

"Come back!"

The Croconaw grabbed the Staryu, making it unable to move.

"Use Rapid Spin, Hydra!" James shouted.

((You know Cheese, Michael is allowed to disagree with Mary)

Staryu wacked C.J. in the face with it's arms as it spun. C.J. fell into Captain. Captain looked at C.J. "Gold-duck-Golduck! , it yelled, waving a flipper in the air.
C.J. yelled back at it.

((Very yes [Homestar reference]))

James did his best not to laugh at the bickering Pokémon, but his teenage instincts kicked in and he found himself chuckling at the two.

"I'm sorry," he said, in between breaths. That was the funniest thing he'd seen in a while; being on board a ship with a bunch of pirates, James hadn't had many opportunities to laugh, and he wasn't going to pass up this one.

Mary looked embarrased. Where her pokemon feeling how much pressure this whole deal with "It" was causing her?

"Come on you two, stop fighting!"

They didn't listen.

James managed to regain his composure, and he tried to help. He knew how vexing it was when people don't listen to you.

"Alright, Hydra," he called, "I want you to gently separate the two. The fat man found James as the new target of his rant.

"What do you mean 'gently'?!" He yelled, "Let them fight! It'll give us an advantage!"

"Well, you were the one talking about a 'fair fight'," said James. He didn't even bother to look his temporary "boss" in the eyes; instead, he was paying close attention to his Staryu to make sure it didn't get hurt during Croconaw and Golduck's quarrel.

Captain smacked C.J. and sent it flying, then did the same thing to Staryu.

James jumped as his Staryu was smacked all the way back to him.

"Hydra!" He called, "Are you alright?"

The fat man laughed and said, "That's what you get for disobeying me, you little brat! He turned to his Pelipper. "Now, Ringo," he said, "Use Wing Attack!" The enormous bird, who looked no more physically fit than its trainer, flung itself toward the Croconaw and used a messy yet forceful Wing Attack.

Mary was stuck between the worn-out C.J. and the rampaging Captain. What had gone wrong?

"Marissa, use Aqua Tail!", shouted a voice.

A smaller Golduck burst from nowhere and Aqua Tailed-the Pelipper, sending it flying into Staryu.

Right before James could go and check on his Staryu, the fat man's Pelipper came crashing by, slamming in to Hydra. He glared at the fat man, who look just as angry as he did.

"Who did that?!" The fat man grunted and looked in the direction of the voice.

Marcus was standing there, holding a pokeball, looking like a big cheese.

"Oh, great," the fat man whined, "another kid?" He was just about to give his "fair fight" lecture a second time when he was interruped by the sound of another Tackle attack. This time, it was Hydra who dilivered the attack. The target: Marcus' Golduck.

James turned to the fat man. "What are you doing?" He said, "Wake up your lazy bird and help me!"

"Marcus, you dummy, you haven't battled since I beat you as a traveling trainer!", said Mary.

"Your point? Marissa, use Hydro Pump!"

The fat man's Pelipper was hit hard with the Hydro Pump attack as it lazily lounged in the bushy grass.

"Ringo," said the fat man, "Use Supersonic!"
