Candidates for Experimental DP Party Empty
PostSubject: Candidates for Experimental DP Party   Candidates for Experimental DP Party EmptyWed Jun 04, 2008 7:10 pm

I've been bored enough for long enough to realize I need to train more of my pokemon. Well, as I was flipping through my PC one day, I realized I have quite a few pokemon with good potential. I've only decided team roles for several of those pokemon; I haven't yet coordinated types or moves for a balanced team. None of these pokemon are trained yet and a lot of the planning is just up in the air, so the writeups are short. ^_^

PHYSICAL SWEEPERS

Gallade
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
~ Psycho Cut
~ Night Slash
~ Brick Break/Drain Punch
~ Double Team/Swords Dance/Stone Edge
Basic P-Sweeper plan with decent type variety (I hope). Can't decide between Double Team and Swords Dance for the fourth move, or I may just drop both and try Stone Edge to counter his weakness to Flying.

Sceptile
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 Whatev
~ Leaf Blade
~ Night Slash
~ X-Scissor
~ Drain Punch
Also quite basic, but with a stricter movepool to work with it was pretty tough to give his moves the variety they need (or I'm not searching hard enough >_>). Drain Punch was prompted mostly from my discovery (yes, I discovered rather late) of the Adamant nature, so I had to get rid of Giga Drain and replace it with a physical move. Hey, It worked for Breloom... =/

Garchomp
I won't even do a writeup on this one. I'm sure you've seen it all so many times before. <_<

SPECIAL SWEEPERS

Yanmega
Nature: Gentle
EVs: 252 SAtk, 252 Spd, 4 Whatev
~ Bug Buzz
~ Air Slash
~ Ancientpower
~ [undecided]
Very basic S-Sweeper. Ability is Speed Boost.

Porygon-Z
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SAtk, 252 Spd, 4 Whatev
~ Conversion2
~ Recover
~ [undecided]
~ [undecided]
Ok, the main reason so little is decided on this moveset is simply because there are too many possibilities! Z is a versatile S-Sweeper with an enormous movepool, and there's so much to choose from I just don't know what I want. But it would be even more shameful to watch this guy rot in the PC just because of that, so I'm totally open to suggestions on this one.

OTHERS

Milotic
Nature: Modest
EVs: 252 SAtk, others undecided
~ Ice Beam
~ Water Pulse
~ Recover
~ [undecided]
Not exactly a Sweeper because of its below-par Speed, but again, this is too good to waste. Normally I aim for Water-Ice hybrids on my teams, but the only ones I have left are either in use in other teams or don't have good Natures.

Rhydon (Hopefully will become a Rhyperior with Solid Rock ^_^)
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk, 128 HP, 128 Def
~ Stone Edge
~ Earthquake
~ Megahorn
~ [undecided]
Poor Speed makes Rhydon even further from Sweeper status than Milotic, but hopefully there is still use for this guy. Stone Edge and Earthquake are basic STAB moves, and Megahorn is mainly for countering his double-weakness to Grass. Undecided is mainly for something random because Rhydon can't make good use of Water's weaknesses to Grass and Electric. =/

Togekiss
Nature: Modest
EVs: 252 SAtk, 128 HP, 128 SDef
~ Air Slash
~ Aura Sphere
~ Ancientpower
~ Metronome
Another would-be Sweeper compromised by Speed. Did my best to vary the attack types, and let's just say Metronome is another way of saying "undecided". ^_^;

I might turn out to have more potentially strong pokemon in here, but these are the most appealing to me. I'll come back and update when/if I find more.

Yeah, for now I'm only going with pokemon I have and can train, not including what I could get through breeding. My ideal Yanmega is either (I can't decide, of course -_-) a Timid with Tinted Lens or a Modest with Speed Boost.
