This is a fan region I recently made for a fanfic I've had in my head. The name of the region is Ulskeh (Allsk-eh), and it doesn't look like Alaska, but the cities in it are based on major cities in said state.
Ulskeh Region: Major Cities.
Name: Plenttville
Real-world basis: Anchorage Alaska.
Description:
Plenttville is a bustling, lively port city suited on the Biall river delta with a huge, expansive trade and tourist industry. Fisherman of all sorts, from parent and child pairs to large fishery boats can be seen casting nets here anytime of day, and the view from the bay at night is said to be spectacular. The city is also known for being the administrative head of Ulskeh, providing funding and enforcing law region wide. As such the region's expensive and optional school is suited in the west of the city for people interested in starting Pokemon-related careers.

Name: Zand Town.
Real-world basis: ...None. It's the only one, I swear! XD;
Description:
Ulskeh is not a desert region by any means. Zand Town however, while not really sandy (*CoughbadpunIknowcough*), experiences extremely dry weather for most of the year for reasons still unknown by scientists. It is the only place in the region where the Biall river is known to ever dry up completely. Because of this many citizens of Zand Town keep water Pokemon with them, exporting the non-native species from Plenttville or another wet area. Some wealthy people even keep water Pokemon not native to Ulskeh. Because of this, Zand Town is the only place in it's region where one can see Seel, Totodile, and Phione, among various other water types. (Hence why it's a special location on the map.)

Name: Wrien Town.
Real-world basis: Ft. Yukon Alaska. (Geographically only)
Description:
Wren Town is suited in the foothills of the Artain Mountains, and most of the homes are built directly into Cliffside’s Because of this people and Pokemon alike here grow strong and healthy from climbing ladders and jumping off ledges every day. Inside the cliffs on which it was built is a deep, clear spring that is the smaller of the two sources of the Biall River. This provides a good majority of the town's water supply, though like in Zand town, some people keep water types for backup, as the city has experienced small droughts in the past. It is famous as the oldest inhabited city in Ulskeh.

Name: Roustar City.
Real-world basis: Nome Alaska.
Roustar City surrounds the larger of the two sources of the Biall River, and the air is constantly foggy in winter time, blocking out the sun and making it dark for most of the season until spring rolls around again. Perhaps this is one of the reasons behind the city's sleepy atmosphere. Everyone in Roustar always seems to be sleepy-eyes and drowse. It's said that any outsider who spends more then a week in the city takes on its personality and is unable to shake the condition even after leaving. Still, it is a popular destination for those who want to kick back and do absolutely nothing for a bit, hence it's wealthy state despite being in a remote, cold area.

Name: Houl Town.
Real-World basis: Any small town located near Bristol Bay.
Description:
Houl Town is the smallest town in Ulskeh, and poor, so it needs regular funding to get by and pay for it's trainers to join the league. It is suited in the western most Biall tributary, which ends at a small lake in a grotto in the mountains. This lake is suitable enough for fishing, which has become the main source of income in the one-horse town. While it obviously isn't as rich in Pokemon as the Biall bay, many unusual species have come to live here as the result of the unique environment and climate of the area. The people are proud of this, as it is something the tiny town can be recognized by.
Okay, *Gasp* I'll post info on the important non-city locations and all that stuff later. That's all for now. ^_^
